Dear Patrons,

We’re back!  Come rediscover your Dunbar Community Centre, which safely re-opened for Phase One of programs in late September, after the pandemic closure in March.  Working with the Parks Board (PB), the Centre’s preschool, youth and vulnerable seniors’ programs are now fully operational. The Fitness Centre, run by PB, re-opened in mid-Sept.

We salute our staff who ensured the COVID-19 safety plans, signage and other precautionary measures, were successfully implemented. Two deep cleans occur each day in the program rooms, washrooms, and common spaces with frequent sanitization of high-touch areas.

Although drop-ins or casual uses, such as lobby lounging, aren’t permitted, program registration is easy, with timed entries, to allow cleaning between classes.  Evening hours will be extended on Mondays and Wednesdays with more program rooms available.

We were also selected to host a new online programming pilot, debuting two FREE workshops: Magic of Honey from the Honey Bee and How to Buy and Sell Real Estate in a Time of Covid.  More details can be found in the most recent Fall Activities Overview Guide.

Thank-you to everyone in the community for your patience and willingness to try new ways to safely participate in our programs that keep you healthy, engaged and active.

-Peggy Griesdale, Chair, Dunbar Community Centre Association Board of Directors
